Graduation Season, AGAIN!

Who else feels like the older we get; the more time seems to pass us by?

When I was a kid, I remember the days feeling SOOO long! A month would feel like a year, and a year felt like it was an eternity. Just me? *Nervous Smiles*

Now a-days, it truly feels like a month passes by just as quickly as a day passes by. Almost like all I have to do is blink my eyes and another year has flown passed. Its bittersweet if you stop to think about it. Sweet because, well we wake up and are still here! Bitter because of the time that passes. We learn that the old cliche we heard over and over from those have been around this earth longer than us, time is a thief, begins to hit home a little harder.

You know what else is bittersweet?

Graduation time! I swear it does not feel like 21 years has passed by since the day that I graduated from high school, myself. I really feel like I was nervously walking on stage, sweaty palms, racin heart, scanning the crowd to find my family, to receive my prized high school diploma.

All of the memories are still fresh in my mind, the butterflies in my belly, the ecstatic happiness, smiling from ear to ear and getting to share those same feelings with my best friend, Lauren, who sat just 2 seats away from me because our last names just happened to be so close in alphabetical order that we could enjoy this milestone moment together (and we had over 400 seniors in my graduating class!) knowing that all those long, agonizing 12+ years of waking up early for school are coming to an end.

That all too familiar joyous feeling of finally having freedom, of finally having full independence, we are growing up! It's quite laughable really when you think about how naive youth can be. We have a such a strong sense of urgency to just hurry up and grow up- all to just get to middle-aged men and women who end up trying with all we have got, to slow life down. Those looong days that our imaginations led us to feel when we were kids suddenly are like a mirage on the horizon.

Then there is prepping for college! Do you remember how exciting preparing for college is? And remember how you only had a couple of months to do it in?

Between your new life schedule of you waking up the day after senior graduation. You are so busy celebrating with your peers.
